If Aryan was spared: When Geralt approaches the la Valettes' villa, he encounters Morvran Voorhis and Mary Louisa as they are exiting. Mary Louisa greets the witcher and the two have a pleasant chat after which Mary Louisa invites Geralt to join her and Morvran at the races at the Vegelbud estate, as Molly, the chambermaid whom Geralt wishes to speak to, is currently there.

If Geralt sided with Roche: When Geralt is at the entrance to the Temerian Partisan Hideout and tries to negotiate his entry with a guard, Roche declares that Geralt is an old friend of his and allows the witcher to enter the camp.

Keira goes to Kaer Morhen: Any sequence of choices that ends with "Go to Kaer Morhen." will send Keira to the witchers' keep. To reach this dialogue option, one must be diplomatic, without exiting dialogue and letting Keira go to Radovid, and without being imposing and preventing Keira from making her own decision by trying to take her notes by force. Insulting replies will also lock out this outcome. At Kaer Morhen, Keira saves Lambert from being killed in The Battle of Kaer Morhen quest. It is worth noting that taking the notes from Keira after making the choice to send her to Kaer Morhen, is of no consequence. Also, it is still possible to save Lambert during the battle even if Keira is not present, though Keira's presence guarantees Lambert's survival.

Don't take Ciri to see Emhyr: If Geralt decides to not take Ciri to see her father and more positive than negative marks are obtained (or equal amount), Ciri will choose to become a witcher in the end.

Talk with Shani in her house: Meeting with Shani will lead Geralt to Temple Isle and to Professor Shakeslock, who will inform the witcher that the only way to defeat the Man of Glass is to best him in a battle of wits. This will allow Geralt to intercede when Gaunter O'Dimm comes to collect Olgeird's soul. Should he choose, Geralt can still allow Gaunter O'Dimm to claim Olgierd's soul.

Try to find Orianna: Geralt tracks down Orianna (beginning the quest Blood Simple) who, in return for him slaying an alpha garkain, reveals to the witcher how to find The Unseen Elder. Committing to this decision leads to the quest What Lies Unseen.

If you choose not to simulate a save, decisions will automatically be made for you. These default options opt for the negative outcomes, and will lock you out of a side quest. Choose to simulate a Witcher 2 save, and use the section below to determine which choices are best.

By default, all of the alternative outfits are set to OFF. You can only change these parameters when you are not playing the game. They will not appear if you open the Gameplay tab of the main menu while you are playing the game.

If you choose to not simulate a Witcher 2 save, you will be left to play The Witcher 3 in its default state with story choices from The Witcher 2 already made for you. If you didn't play the previous game, then there's no harm in leaving this option disabled. However, if you want to curate your Witcher 3 story in a way that better suits the characters you'd like to meet, then it's best to leave this option turned out.

If you choose Yes to the "Simulate Witcher 2 save data" option while playing Witcher 3, you'll get a few more options in gameplay. Essentially, choosing affirmatively means you'll make some decisions from the previous game, Witcher 2. If you choose not to do this, the game will decide on default choices from Witcher 2. Neither choice majorly affects gameplay, but it can give you different options for dialogue and possibly NPC interactions.

Keria Metz: This one has three different options determined by For the Advancement of Learning. The default is that she dies burned at the stake by Radovid. This happens if you do all of her secondary quests in Velen and choose to let her go to Radovid. This also occurs if you do nothing. You can kill her yourself, if you so choose, if you complete all of her secondary quests and then decide to kill her. If you tell her to go to Kaer Morhen, then she will ride off with Lambert and help you in the defense of the stronghold.

Ruler of Skellige: You have to do both secondary quests offered to you for both Hjalmar and Cerys, then finish King's Gambit, then you have to side either with Hjalmar and Cerys to have a choice in the ending. Cerys is the better ruler, but doesn't specifically enjoy looting other countries and builds the islands up. Hjalmar go on all out war against Nilfgaard. Svanridge is the default, if you don't do these, and turns the continent into a monarchy and is a pretty bad ruler.

If Novigrad falls to the emperor, he will live. This requires you to side with Vernon Roche. This is entirely possible with or without Ciri becoming empress. If you do not visit Emhyr, then by default she will become a witcher with Geralt.

The mission is aptly titled because it sees the return of antagonist Letho from The Witcher 2. This is the default scenario, of course. If players chose to kill him at the end of the 2012 prequel title and that save is carried over, he won't appear and this side mission will not be present in the first place. Otherwise, Geralt will witness a surprise meeting with the burly Witcher.

It's amusing that the solution to the indoor movement problem was to make Geralt superhuman, able to rapidly change direction with an unnatural twist, but that's essentially what CD Projekt has done. Whereas the default mode attempts to simulate the movement of a real-life man, Geralt is now a lot more game-y, if you want him to be. Views on whether that's a good or bad thing will vary, but it's all immaterial in the end, because it's completely optional.

In this mode time is "stopped", the camera moves around and the conversation partner plays idle animations but by default the game is paused and the player has all the time in the world to weigh the choices and chose the one they feel most appropriate. 2ff7e9595c
